AEE has developed comprehensive installation modeling software that can be adapted to analyze the specific site and installation conditions of each customer. The analysis anticipates the full range of WES™ cost, auxiliary equipment costs and each customer's unique site installation costs. It also provides for a complete review of life cycle fixed and variable costs of operation & maintenance, projected fuel cost and capital recovery.
A typical WES™ installation (assuming a 40 million btu per hour
heat output installation, operating approximately 7800 hours per year,
or 90% operating "up time") will generally provide a total cost
of energy (“TCE”, including O&M,
fuel and capital recovery) under $5.00 per decatherm. It should be noted
that because the cost to produce energy includes relatively high fixed
cost components, the TCE for smaller installations can be higher, while
the TCE of larger installations will typically be much lower.
